The service was everything we had asked for and more. As if this wasn't enough, months later on October 15 (which is National Infant Loss Rememberance Day) I came home to find a beautiful photo memory book on my porch courtesy of McLaurin.

When my dad James Robert Worrells and my grandmother Betty Lou worrells passed I chose to use this funeral home. I was very unhappy about every thing. I called two days after funeral to pick up guest book and the rest of my dads ashes and they told me it wasn't ready..So after several weeks went by and I didn't hear from anyone I called back and a lady told me they had been leaving messages on my phone to come pick up my dad and grandmother guest book but like I told the lady I don't have a voicemail..So either she was lieing a d didn't call or she had wrong number.. They took upon there self to throw everything away the guest book,my dads ashes, pictures of my dad and grandmother, my dad golden bronze foot print... I now ha e no pictures of my dad or grandmother.. It took me along time to even put this on there page BC I tried to forget about it but AFTER all these years it bothers me very bad. I can't even show my children pictures of them..I am very scar from this...

Bryan and the rest of the staff at McLaurin could have tried to take advantage of grieving parents but instead the went above and beyond our expectations in every way possible.

When my husband passed away, Jim McLaurin was so thoughtful and courteous during our arrangements, I knew everything was in good hands. Every one at McLaurin's was very helpful. I knew that they were taking care of not only my husband, but me as well. Thank you Jim and all your staff.

OMG! I'm so very sorry you had this terrible experience. I prefer LOCAL owned funeral home like Parrish in Selma.

PS This site would not let me post unless I gave it a star!!!

While I do not know you, I read your comments and I feel so bad for you. What a thing to do to a person!!!! I wonder why they did not, at the least, mail the things the did not have ready for you? I wish they would respond, as to why they did such a cruel thing.

Last year my husband and I went through the traumatic experience of losing our 5 week old baby girl. Suddenly we were thinking of things that no new parents should have to be.... The first person I was in contact with the day after our daughters passing was Bryan at McLaurin Funeral Home. He was truly a gift to us, he made everything as simple as possible and was available for any of my questions at any time of the day.
